The Enterprise crew stop to assist a helpless group of Aliens who turn out to be not so helpless and a little nefarious, while Captain Picard tries clandestinely to undergo a medical procedure at a nearby star base. Things go horribly wrong and the crew must race to save their crew members from peril.
